New Car Sales Figures down for 09 but Scotland on High Land!

2009 Car and Commercial Vehicle Sales Results

Official figures have been released for 2009 showing new car sales are up down ove 6%.

The car scrappage scheme helped support the decline but the fleet car sector and commercial vehicles didn't do so well. However, Scotland new car shows sales up 7% in 2009!

The decline in the business and commercial vehicle sectors was far greater than new car registrations which supported by the scrappage scheme fell only 6% in 2009 but the business fleet car sector saw a decline of 50%!

It is said that the extension of the car scrappage scheme will help support economic recovery and help our much maligned manufacturing industry in the U.K.

We blogged earlier that new "59" plate registrations that went on sale the 1st of September had 367,929 sales in Septemer 2009.

Scotland who are clearly on "high land" showed an increase of 75% above the figures for 2008 in new car sales!
