Government Extends Car Scrappage Scheme

Than U.K Spends More Online Advertising than any other major economy!

The scrappage scheme gives £2000 off a new car for cars at least 10 years old.

The government allocated £300 million for the scheme which was expected to run out in February 2010. The move is hoped to save jobs and help support demand and sales on new cars which is highly supported by car manufacturers.

Business secretary Lord Mandelson broke the news at the labour party conference, announcing the scheme is to be extended to cover 100,000 more cars and vans.

It is reported that so far more than 227,000 orders have been placed uinder the scheme bringing it close the original funds allocated. There have been promising signs of the economy picking up but the fragility in manufacturing is still very much considered.

Car dealer marketing clients have certainly benefited from this, espcecially multiple dealer groups which has really thrown a life line over the last year of trading.

The age of vehicle is also to be reduced to prior 29th February 2000 and vans need to be at least 8 years old.
