The U.K is the first major economy to spend more on Internet Advertising than other media!
The recession as seen advertising spend drop 16% overall this year a whopping 1.75 billion has been spent online advertising so far this year, 60% of which on search advertising. Internet accounts for over 23% of spend in comparision to just under 22% for television now. |
Although the U.K has become the first major economy to spend more online advertising than other forms of advertising although it is reported Denmark achieved the same earlier this year. IAB figures show that £1.05bn has been spent this year (60%) on search advertising for web sites such as Google.
With companies struggling to meet profit levels and fighting for sales traditional print based and radio etc have seen decline in spend where as the transparency and the direct reach to customers has meant the internet is increasing more so than ever before.

The amount of time people in the U.K spend online has continued to increase over recent years with some 48,755,000 internet users now in the U.K which is nearly 80% of the population according to Nielsen Online.
